reasons why paris is better than anywhere else

sorry team, i'm not entirely motivated to write a huge poster, just thought i'd show off some really cool things going on where i am.
i'll hit up a large long post soon - it's the weekend after all - with links and things embedded and all the bells and whistles. really the kind of stuff you start reading blogs for
other than that though, new music lately has consisted of the dirtiest dubstep known to man, a dude named Excision who's from somewhere in england. his music is so industrial and fucked.
i think it should be the soundtrack to the transformers films:

Akira and Life in General

i'm going out on a bit of a limb here, people.
whipping out the animé.
however out of them all, this one is definitely the best. i hope that you can take a little bit of time out of your busy, busty schedules to watch this. on youtube, in parts, illegally.
[i don't condone these activities from a legal standpoint - just personal.]

i'm also sorry there's been very little action here over the past month.
that will all change soon - when the ability to upload images gets better.
for now, i'll just take them from facebook and stuff.
photocreditz: Madeleine Rothery's incredible camera (pictured below)

the last thing i want to do is turn my blog into a bunch of esoteric personal jokes and stuff like that, so please don't get that idea. (regarding photos and whatnot)
i just think the photos look cool...

STEP ONE: wake up
STEP TWO: open iTunes
STEP THREE: click on the "Search" field, and type the words "Animal Collective"
STEP FOUR: Click the small symbol:
STEP FIVE: Press play and enjoy.

02 January 2010

so this is the new year

howdy all.
to those who actually read this ridiculous filth, i'd like to say sorry
for not having posted for the past 8 or 9 days. it was truly my fault.
if you can only forgive me, i'll surely clog your bandwidth with ridiculous
youtube videos once more.

but seriously i've had a legitimate reason to not post. "what the fuck is that reason you old dirty bastard?!" you may ask. my reply will simply come "that i've been on a fucking plane for three days, you birk!" then the resoundingly large replys come from that - "THREE DAYS - what did you do? go around the world twice and a bit, or something like that?!" to which i say "well i'm in paris now so you can fuck right off my case". but really i've been listening to not much music at all - even on the flight all i listened to was half of the Greatest dubstep mixtape to ever be made: "I Love Dubstep" - torrent link available here, and a couple of mixtapes by some lovely sydney Djs, the STARFUCKERS i also read an entire book, watched x-men origins which is fucking great, and some other thoroughly sub par movies, like GI JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA.

derp

anyways. so i've got not much music to share with you, other than this one song that i have a bit of a soft spot for. and i think it's especialy appropriate, considering the time of year and all. i don't really know why i do like this song so much, when i think about it, it's probably nowhere near as good as how much i like it. but anyway - i like it.

wishing everyone and everything the happiest of new years', and merriest of christmas' if you celebrate it. more uninterrupted streams of inter-filth to come soon.

for now though, have this photo:

that's how it's done in paris, kids.

The Prodigy

i really am hoping to be able to see them next year.
i missed the prodigy when they last came to Aus, in 05 and 09 for various reasons,
but now our paths will cross in Paris, when i'm there for the year.
so i hope to be able to go and see them,
and have fun

Much like Justice, i'll always have a soft spot for The Prodigy
I first came across them at the tender age of 11.
Little did i know just what i was really dabbling with..
Had my dad actually known that he'd bought me 6 of the world's most intense pirated CD's,

i'm sure he would have felt differently about the markets in Hanoi.
but they became a part of my life at that young age,
without me understanding the culture or background that they came from.
all i knew is that this song (amongst others, of course)

was awesome,
and that i had a very visceral reaction to it.
i still do.

i don't like other jungle,
i don't like much drum and bass
i don't rave
i don't shuffle - it's for dicks
i don't gabber - also for dicks
i never have taken a pill
i don't partake in the whole trance / house / acid house scene
but i fucking love this song.
and i fucking love the prodigy.

don't steal their music. it's worth buying to support them.
plus i  also hear if you steal it, then Keith Flint will come get you in your sleep
"holy shit, he could eat me alive"

yeah.

i know

ps. proof that gabbering, raving and anything involved in that scene is for dicks:

what?
you want MORE proof?
oh, alright

believe me yet?
people are really stupid.

and here's some proof that The Prodigy don't just want to kill people...

isn't that song great??
